Discount Materials brand Native Mulch is a premium mulch product. Like pine bark mulch, our decorative mulch has a very pleasant appearance and does an excellent job of suppressing weeds, moderating soil temperatures, and retaining soil moisture. However, native mulch tends to be better because it is ground yard waste which means it has more nutrients for the soil.

Recommended Uses:

Trees and Shrubs: Apply 3" to 4" inches of native mulch around the base of trees and shrubs to suppress weeds and retain moisture. Flower Beds: Native mulch makes an excellent back drop to set off your plants and flowers. Use as a top dressing by applying 3" to 4" around plants and flowers.

Other Uses:

Native mulch is an excellent material to cover highly shaded areas, around playground equipment, and other areas where grass will not grow.
