Calculate the amount of mulch needed to cover the desired area.

Example: 1 cubic yard will cover approximately 100 sq./ft. at 3” deep.

Compost
Calculate the amount of compost or loam needed for your project. Depending on your current soil conditions, these amounts may vary widely. Compost can be used for enriching your current soil, while loam (topsoil) can be used for a multitude of projects such as creating a new lawn.

Example: 1 cubic yard of material will cover 100sq./ft. at 3” deep.

Example: 1 cubic foot of material will fill approximately a 5-gallon pot. More material should be used for the surrounding area according to planting instructions.
